Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana Leaders Champion for America’s Youth on Capitol Hill

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana Chief Executive Officer, Angel Nelson, and Chief Development Officer, Emily Sparks joined with hundreds of Boys & Girls Clubs from across the country for National Days of Advocacy in Washington, D.C. Club leaders met will with members of Congress to advocate for the critical needs of kids and teens in America and to show the unique role Clubs serve in their communities.

Angel and Emily met with U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, Congressman Garret Graves and staff, Congressman Scalise, Congressman Carter's staff, Senator Kennedy's staff, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America's President, Jim Clark to talk about the Clubs and their commitment to ensuring that every young person has opportunity for Great Futures.

“Clubs like ours have a unique role as community leaders in providing valuable afterschool programs to our country’s youth that enable them to achieve great futures,” said Angel Nelson, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana. “We were honored to represent Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana to raise visibility of the needs of our community youth, especially the ones who need us most, and show what we can accomplish with the support of our elected officials and our community.”
