Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana hosted the 2024 Louisiana Teen Summit for Boys & Girls Club teen members across the state. Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana, North Louisiana, and Shreveport Salvation Army teens joined our members in Baton Rouge for a weekend of celebration, connection and knowledge.
Throughout the weekend, Club members participated in various group activities, including a vocational and career fair, breakout sessions that discussed financial literacy, social media, mental health and more. They also visited Louisiana State University and Southern University for college tours where they were able to explore the campuses and learn more about academics and athletics.
During the evenings, the teens got to enjoy some fun recreational activities at Topgolf and All Star Lanes. Through these activities, they engaged with teens outside of their Club and made new connections.
The weekend ended with the state's Youth of the Year competition, with the winner being our very own Expressway Park teen member CaMyra D!
